Being part of the IHG family of Hotels and Resorts, the safety and well-being of our guests and community is paramount.
Due to the global outbreak of the novel coronavirus, please do not plan to travel to Hamilton Island (or Coral Sea Marina) and onward to Hayman Island if you meet any of the following criteria:
If you have been in a COVID-19 hotspot or exposure site in the last 14 days or since the hotspot was declared (whichever is shorter).
If you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19. Please follow all Queensland Health guidelines and isolate yourself for 14 days from the date of last contact with the confirmed case.
Please consider you local state’s travel restrictions before travelling as the situation is changing rapidly.
If you have been to an exposure site at the specified date and time as declared in the Government issued updates, you are required to contact us immediately.
In addition to the on-island implementation of additional safety precautions as stipulated by local jurisdiction and the Australian Government, each individual guest is required to check in using the Check In Qld app.
Interstate visitors should download the Check In QLD app in advance of their stay as they will be asked to check in when boarding our luxury launch.
InterContinental Hayman Island Resort reserves the right to cancel the booking or deny access to anyone who chooses to travel to InterContinental Hayman Island Resort within a mandated self-quarantine period or is found to be untruthful about the above declaration. If you do arrive on Hayman Island within a mandated self-quarantine period, you will be immediately transferred to our Medical Centre for assessment prior to being moved to a quarantine accommodation facility for a period of time as directed by the Medical Officer, at your own expense.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation whilst we endeavour to protect our guests and community during this time. These are temporary measures, following the guidelines issues by the Australian Government and Queensland Government that are being reviewed on a daily basis.
The resort remains committed to implementing additional health and safety measures in line with local jurisdiction and has adopted the IHG Way of Clean programme developed in conjunction with experts from Ecolab, a global leader in hygiene technologies and service.
These rigorous, new efforts are being led by IHG’s recently established Global Cleanliness Board. This group of IHG operations, health and safety, and guest experience colleagues are working with external specialists to understand best practices, define solutions and implement processes that address short term needs and are sustainable over the long-term.
