||Let’s get cooking! Children can awaken their inner chef by jumping into the kitchen to cook their favourite sweet and savoury delights. With a focus on foods for the day, we will adventure around the island learning about the local wildlife, and their favourite foods, as well as explore foods through arts, crafts, science and play.
This theme includes but is not limited to – baking, cookie decorating, foodie arts & exploring the diets of our local fauna.
||Look, Taste, Touch, Smell, and Hear! Children will explore their senses through a variety of sensory activities. Catering to the unique ages and interests of the children, as well as weather conditions, these days will incorporate water-play, messy-play and sand play, as well as arts, crafts and science.
This theme includes but is not limited to – kinetic sand creations, playdough & slime making.
||Grab your hats, binoculars and maps! We’re off on a buggy safari! Children will discover the amazing animals of Hayman Island through play, craft and exploration.
This theme includes but is not limited to – animal scavenger hunts/ buggy safaris, orientation & animal face painting.
||How? What? Why? Children will put on their thinking caps and be as inquisitive as possible. We will encourage learning through play, whilst exploring topics of buoyancy, density, and movement.
This theme includes but is not limited to – sink & float activities, balloon cars creations & kite making.
||One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish! With such an abundant underwater world just at our doorstep, children will discover the fish of the Great Barrier Reef! At 10am, we will head down to fish feeding to meet some local fish face to face. We will make sea creature creations and learn some fishy facts!
This theme includes but is not limited to – under the sea craft, fish feeding & under the sea games.
||Calling all mini scientists! Let’s have fun with science experiments, cool facts, fun games and activities!
This theme includes but is not limited to – volcano explosions, lava lamps & DIY crystal growth.
||Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Rehome, Recycle! Children will learn about the beautiful environment and wildlife around us as well as the ways we can keep the ecosystems healthy. With a focus on the 5 Rs, we make sustainable crafts, explore the gardens, and chat about ways we can reduce our impacts.
This theme includes but is not limited to – recycled paper making, exploring our gardens & researching through experiments & excursions.
